Job Description

Seeking experienced marketing and communications professional to lead brand recognition and company growth.This position will report directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and structured professional known for execution. They will liken themselves as a “doer” that can actualize the ideas and strategies of our CEO. A background working with Fortune 500s, building influencer relationships and managing youth targeted messaging will be of benefit for this position. This role is ideal for a professional with a passion in business development, sales and social entrepreneurship. 

This leadership role will oversee overall business development and growth of My Effect with a particular focus on driving revenue streams and managing corporate partnerships.You will work directly to manage lead generation, build new relationships with Fortune 500 clients, and expand our nonprofit organization user base. 

With our cross-collaborative model, My Effect presents a unique business development challenge as we have three distinct target client groups each with their own applications of our platform.  

  • Nonprofit Sector: volunteer management and community engagement platform
  • Businesses: Cause marketing, employee volunteer engagement and corporate social responsibility platform
  • Educators: community-based service learning platform for students 

As such the ideal candidate will be able to handle a dynamic role and be versatile in their communications experience. You should be a strategic thinker comfortable selling to C-suite executives and a persuasive communicator able to engage multiple stakeholders to generate leads and close deals. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all programs and services, developing a broad and deep knowledge of all brand offerings.
  • Oversee lead generation strategies, client relations processes and overall sales strategies
  • Prepare proposals for C-suite Fortune 500 clients and develop compelling sales and partnership pitches
  • Pitch and negotiate partnership deals, secure new revenues and explore new ways to expand client reach and brand recognition
  • Identify strategic alliances and market leads to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organizational challenges.
  • Manage and cultivate existing relationships with clients to secure and develop recurring revenue streams
  • Nurture leads and conduct sales meetings with Fortune 500 executives, educators or nonprofit target clients
  • Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on the progress of the strategic plan implementation.
  • Oversee market research creating databases for client outreach, client cold-calling, and potential leads for strategic alliances
  • Lead, coach, and retain a high-performance start-up team with an emphasis on developing capacity
  • Prepare and submit an annual operational budget, manage effectively within this budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
  • Provide programmatic leadership and input for strategic planning and business development processes


Qualifications

 

  • Completed a Postgraduate or Masters Degree with a focus in Business Development, Management and/or Sales
  • Prior work experience with proven success in a senior management role
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm and the ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Excellent communicator and networker, with proven success of building influencer relationships & B2B sales
  • Capable of driving revenue streams with a track record of securing impressive sales growth
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to manage and develop high-performance teams and develop and implement program strategies
  • Analytic and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritize and communicate key objectives and tactics necessary to achieve organizational goals
  • Ability to point to specific examples of having led organizational transformation projects and program development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent public speaking skills
  • Excellent writing and positioning skills with experience crafting senior executive level proposals and business briefs
  • Fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
  • Experience in program budgeting and fiscal management
  • An established network of warm contacts with Fortune 500s that target millennials/students or are industry leaders in the education or charitable sector is an asset
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative approach to operational management
  • Passion, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
