Job Description

NEC are currently recruiting an external client facing Project Manager with a background in significant large scale software implementation. The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for delivering all aspects of a project through go live and into service, tracking deadlines, milestones and processes, to the required quality, time and cost.

This role involves the management of client implementations of our Public Safety software from contract signature through to go-live including, resource planning, stakeholder management of the force and coordinating resources from internal teams to undertake workshops to move the project forward.

You will be liaising with internal and external clients to ensure that all requirements are identified and planned in with the delivery team. You will ensure that escalations are managed and any issues addressed, and attend and run all internal boards to senior stakeholders. You will represent NEC within all Customer meetings and ensure that the NEC delivery budget is adhered to

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as project manager of significant software implementations.
  • Thorough understanding of project/programme management techniques and methods
  • Strong project management knowledge and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a calm and effective way.
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics
  • Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting
  • Working knowledge of MS office and project management software
  • A business acumen with a strategic mindset
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • An analytical mind-set with great problem-solving abilities
  • Numerate, methodical, approachable, an excellent communicator at many levels
  • Broad knowledge of project management principles
  • Ability to lead and develop team members
  • Able to work alone and as effectively as a team player
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Proven negotiator
  • Proven ability to self-manage and remain productive under pressure.
  • Professionally presented and a great ambassador for the Company
  • Positive work ethic which includes willingness to work extended hours where appropriate
  • Knowledge of Bluelight Emergency Services operations would be an advantage

 Required Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent
  • PRINCE2 practitioner

Awareness of Agile development and project managing within this framework
