Job Description

This is a newly created role perfect for a Cyber Security professional who thrives in an operational environment. Working within our IT Operations team you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on NEXTDC’s security posture.

As the Cyber Security Specialist you will be responsible for operational tasks including management and maintenance of ICT systems, investigation and resolution of security incidents and contributing to the development and compliance of Cyber security policies and standards. Your first 3 months in this role will be focused on refining incident response plans and building the cyber security operational playbook. This framework will define the metrics and key performance indicators for what success will look like in this role.

You will play a key role in educating business stakeholders on best practice, providing input and giving advice during audits and other compliance activities. It is crucial that you enjoy building relationships and can communicate effectively, taking the time to get to know your customers and support their needs and enquiries. You won’t hesitate to pick up the phone and engage proactively with all levels of the business, qualifying, educating and supporting the wider NEXTDC team as our Cyber specialist.

There will be a requirement for some on-call and out of hours support in this role.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role (Cyber experience essential)
  • Experience using Microsoft ATP Suite
  • CISSP or similar Cyber Security accreditation (desirable)
  • Exposure to Microsoft and Mac client systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Outstanding customer service and stakeholder management skill
