The Project Director will have accountability for the delivery of multiple small to medium scale ($250k to $20m) project(s) within our data centres nationally. You will manage and deliver projects across NEXTDC’s existing data centre portfolio.  The projects will be a mix of base-building infrastructure capacity expansions, “white-space” provisioning for future data hall deployments, and customer fitouts. 

You will drive a safety-first culture focusing on all aspects of health and safety, and drive business improvement initiatives. From time-to-time, you will provide project delivery support to key internal stakeholders and assist and support them to conduct due diligence, prepare feasibility analyses, and plan future portfolio growth.

This role will include directing completion of detailed design, procurement, appointment of consultants, and overseeing development until fitout and handover.  Your expertise will be valued throughout the process where you will be able to identify and implement business improvement initiatives.

This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.  Accuracy and brevity are essential attributes for this role
• 10+ years’ experience in Data Centre, or similar asset class project management
• Relevant qualifications and experience (e.g. Degree in Engineering/Construction/Business or similar) 
• Thorough knowledge of NCC and BCA requirements, and town planning processes
• Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
• A team player who can pragmatically manage and build strong relationships within NEXTDC
• Demonstrable leadership qualities with particular emphasis on “can-do” attitude and collaboration
• A leader that conduct themselves in a professional, respectful and courteous manner at all times.  Value diversity in thought and action.
• Highly proficient in key MS Office applications, especially Excel and Project.
• Highly developed project management skills.
• Proven ability to meet project deadlines and budgets. 
• Project Management qualifications/certification/experience in PMBOK, ISO21500 or other recognised project standards/Guides (highly regarded)
