NYC Social is a co-ed, adult recreational sports club and social network in New York City. Our goal is to eradicate loneliness and build a framework for new friendships in NYC, a place where a sense of community can often be hard to find for newcomers and residents alike. We do this by way of producing fun and welcoming events and social sports leagues with post-game socializing every season of the year. We serve adults 21+ from the boroughs of New York City as well as from Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Job Description

We currently have an opening for a Marketing Manager. The Marketing Manager will be the main point of planning & contact for all marketing and promotion initiatives and will oversee the Marketing team while working with all departments to ensure cooperation and cohesion. This work of this position is integral in fostering the high-quality, positive-energy fun and welcoming community that we are known for and will play a lead role in the growth and development of the company as a whole.

Key Responsibilities
• Market company and events through an optimized channel mix to drive sales efforts, increase membership, and further solidify brand recognition 
• Perform editorial functions for Marketing efforts: assign, track, and edit copy, photo, and design submissions; curate overall feel, voice, and message
• Employ a strong understanding of available social media management and analytics tools; grow & engage our community both online and in person
• Lead project to revamp website and all company collateral
• Manage the workflow and efforts of the Marketing team
• Manage all marketing-oriented part time or contract resources including the street team, writers, photographers, distributors including hiring, training, equipping, scheduling, and supervising
• Develop, manage, and further strategic alliances with local, regional, and national lifestyle organizations
• Additional duties as needed

Qualifications

Job Requirements 
• 3-5 years experience in marketing. Minimum 2 years of NYC based experience. Relationship marketing and promotions a plus
• 1-2 years direct people management experience
• Software / Computer Skills:
• HTML 
• CSS
• Joomla & WordPress
• Mac proficient
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Adobe Suite
• Contact Management / Database software
• SEO 
• Google products including ads, analytics, and Gmail
• Facebook ads, posts, events, business pages, & profiles

• Background in entrepreneurship, particularly with an events-based or entertainment business 
• Flexible, collaborative, and affable team player with exhibited ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
• Great sense of humor and the ability to discern between work and play
• Self-confident, self-motivated, and well-organized with a strong sense of personal accountability and active problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail; capable of math; active and engaged creative thinker
• Proven track record of taking initiative and completing projects successfully, on time, and within budget
• Valid drivers license and eligibility to operate a rental vehicle

This is a full time position with office hours of 10am - 6pm; additional evening and weekend hours are frequent in this position.
