Job Description

Reports to: Director of Human Resources 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the point person for all employee benefit questions and in most instances, will handle any and all employee benefit issues/concerns
  • Conduct all PT New Hire Orientations and FT New Hire Orientations as needed
  • Manage benefit administration by communicating insurance options and plan details to employees, submitting all enrollment forms for new employees and during annual open enrollment, submitting any plan changes and/or terminations, submitting COBRA continuation forms for terminations, ensuring the Payroll and AP Manager has the correct payroll deductions for participants and handles any employee benefit issues/concerns (medical, dental, life insurance, vacation/sick/personal time, Flex Spending, YMCA)
  • Facilitate Work-Life Balance Program by recruiting members, planning meetings, delegating tasks and overseeing all program activities
  • Coordinate FMLA and LTD leave by completing and submitting all necessary paperwork
  • Responsible for many aspects of the annual review process, including job description updates and salary survey fulfillment
  • Oversee many aspects of the recruitment and selection process by the creating and posting job announcements for all open positions, screening and reviewing all applicants for every full time position, receiving all job applicant calls and providing hiring managers with recommendations of top candidates
  • Establish positive relationships with employees, benefit brokers and providers
  • Complete and file the EEO-1 report annually
  • Complete and submit all employment verification request forms
  • Responsible for upkeep and dissemination of policy manuals and HR forms

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree, preferably with an emphasis in an area that is applicable to Human Resources; SHRM Certification preferred; Masters Degree desired
  • Minimum of two years of Human Resource experience or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred
  • The NSO is looking for an honest person who is detail-oriented, showing strong initiative, a professional attitude, who is not afraid of failure and has the ability to work positively with staff, musicians, and volunteers
  • Ability to maintain the strictest of confidence as needed
  • Must have strong competency with Microsoft Office products (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and have the capacity to learn new software application programs as required
