Founded in 1946, the 83-member orchestra is today the largest performing arts nonprofit in the state of Tennessee. With 140 performances annually, the Symphony’s concert schedule encompasses a diverse mix of classical, pops, jazz and family programs, along with extensive community outreach efforts.

Job Description

Reports to: Box Office Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Box Office Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Box Office including overseeing the sales and distribution of all tickets, provide quality control by reviewing all ticket orders, maintain product information in Tessitura database, and serve as back-up to the Box Office Manager for scheduling part-time employees, submitting payroll, closing batches and submitting money to the finance department
  • Assist the Box Office Manager in training new ticketing staff
  • Assist Box Office Manager in ensuring that all ticketing needs are met for sponsors, VIPs, artists and staff
  • Provide high levels of customer service and product knowledge to help meet budgeted goals of organization
  • Develop thorough knowledge of Box Office ticketing policies, including but not limited to exchanges, renewal sales and acquisition sales,
  • Answer customer service calls in phone queue
  • Participate in Box Office night-of-show supervisor rotation


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of box office or ticket services experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of Tessitura preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Some knowledge of symphonic music preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Committed to superb customer service, quality of work and attention to detail
  • Must be a strong leader with creative and innovative approaches to job related functions
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
