Job Description

The Marketing Content Specialist will fill a critical and visible need on the marketing team. This role will work closely with leadership across the organization, creating compelling, conversion-focused copy and content for prospects and customers. The content must align and fit within NFG's overall strategic plan, audience needs, and brand guidelines. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional writer, interviewer, and collaborator, and will be passionate about developing effective content.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work across departments to develop and create marketing content designed to engage and progress visitors through the buyer funnel, and regularly report on results.

• Manage and maintain NFG promotional and sales content calendar and library.

• Regularly interview internal and external subject matter experts in order to create and improve content.

• Develop advertising copy to support educational content distribution channels, while maintaining consistent voice and branding.

• Research and curate external, related content for targeted channels.

• Develop internal and external marketing and sales collateral.

• Create content assets, including:

      o Web pages

      o Campaign landing pages

      o Emails

      o Banner ads

      o Video scripts

      o Case Studies

      o Sales collateral and brochures

• Lead generation-focused social media content


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing or related field or equivalent experience.

• 3-5 years of professional work experience as a copywriter, technical writer, editor, marketing communications specialist (with a heavy focus on writing), or similar role.

• Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills required; experience writing and making a video in a marketing environment preferred.

• Strong technical skills desired, particularly with WordPress and HTML; Basic knowledge of InDesign and/or Photoshop preferred.

• Experience writing for the web, social media and online marketing.

• Knowledge of current SEO best practices, trends and tools.

• Ability to communicate effectively across multi-functional departments and teams.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment with shifting priorities.

• Ability to handle a heavy workload and prioritize tasks with a positive, can-do attitude.

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, while assisting with overall marketing needs and projects.

• Experience working with nonprofit, philanthropic, crowdfunding or higher education sectors and selling SaaS software to nonprofits preferred.

• Willingness to travel occasionally.
