Job Description
OVERVIEW
NewsCred, a dynamic content marketing startup, is looking for a full-time business and technology editors. The candidate will work closely with other members of the editorial team to curate text, images, and video for major brand clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Curate licensed text, images, and video for major brand clients
- Select articles relevant to a particular topic or ad campaign
- Work cross-functionally with the sales and client services departments to achieve efficiencies and ensure the highest level of client satisfaction
- Manage internal and external client expectations
- Rewrite headlines for SEO
- Participate in weekly editorial calls
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- Superior news judgement and attention to detail
- Experience in news production or homepage management at a news organization
- Familiarity with digital marketing space and enthusiasm for working with commercial brands
- Familiarity with and passion for the journalism and marketing industries
- Understanding of tone and voice (e.g. What makes a Gawker story different from a Washington Post story?)
- Familiarity with writing catchy, SEO-optimized headlines
- Experience with content management systems (e.g. Wordpress, Tumblr, etc.) and social media
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff both internal and external
- Photo editing experience a plus, but not required

- Bachelor’s degree required
