Overview

NewsCred is a dynamic, well funded B2B start-up seeking a Country General Manager, Bangladesh, to set strategy processes and to run the day to day operations. The candidate must be a self-starter who exhibits a strong desire to work in a startup environment, motivated by working with a high degree of independence to deliver against aggressive plans.

Responsibilities

• Build the best software engineering team in Bangladesh;
• Create and execute company strategies, policies and decisions set out by the Managing Director, Bangladesh;
• Take full ownership of all the departments, including Software Engineering, HR, Finance and Administration; run day to day operations in Dhaka;
• Lead the Dhaka management team and follow up with heads of departments to track their progress and match the requirements with NewsCred New York;
• Regularly communicate with New York and London offices and set targets across departments and individuals, actively managing performance levels to meet expected goals for the Dhaka office;
• Motivate, train and supervise high performance teams for all the departments and ensure all team members are happy and inspired;
• Generate new ideas and inventions and ultimately be accountable for the innovation and quality of products and software solutions delivered by NewsCred;
• Review operational records and reports to gauge the performance of teams across departments;
• Achieve financial objectives by developing and monitoring the performance of financial operational plans/budgets to support the overall objectives of the Company;
• Build NewsCred's brand in Bangladesh and develop long-term relationships with organizations and individuals which will enhance the company's relationships within the local software community;
• Ensure NewsCred is effectively represented at tech events, association meetings to promote awareness, establish business relationships and recruitment efforts.

Requirements

• 12+ years
• Goal driven / aggressive in achieving results;
• Proven track record of building and leading successful high performance software teams;
• Extensive experience in Agile Project Management methodologies;
• Software Engineering background is highly desirable;
• Impeccable English communication skills are required;
• International experience in technology companies is highly desirable;
• Passionate about high growth tech startups and software engineering.
