Need a junior Associate Engineer Data Scientist that has software development experience. You will be using Python, so that is preferred but C++ and Java are fine since you can pick up other languages. The Associate Engineer Data Scientist will interact with quants which have similar skills. Core pieces are strong in stats, solid background with data science tool kits and decent programming skills. The Associate Engineer Data Scientist should have machine learning and data visualization experience. Both of those are more growth areas, so you could be weaker in those categories.

The Associate Engineer Data Scientist will be part of development on the Trading Analytics Team. The Associate Engineer Data Scientist role will help to define data collection requirements, perform statistical analysis on data set and create reports to support trading and technology management. The team works very closely with traders, risk management, financial engineering, platform services, and operations. The systems employ Python, C++, Java, and web technologies across a heterogeneous distributed environment.

Responsibilities:

-Collaborate with application owners to help define data collection requirements.

-Perform statistical analysis to extract information from market and system data.

-Partner with traders and financial engineers to create reports and solve problems.

-Build tools and infrastructure to aid in data exploration, analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:

-1-4 years of experience in a Data Sciences role.

-Development experience in any programming language, Python experience is preferred.

-B.S. in Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields.

-Expertise in statistics.

-Experience with common data science toolkits, Scipy experience is preferred.

-Experience with data visualization tools and the ability to present data effectively.

-Experience with machine learning.

-Highly motivated to understand complicated workflows and produce high quality solutions.

-A love of problem solving.

-Strong analytic capabilities.

-Ability to work individually or in a team environment.

-Strong written and verbal communication skills.

-Technical curiosity in learning and maintaining technical acumen.
