Location : Highland Heights / Ohio

Manufacturing Engineer (Packaging specialist) Your Challenge In this role you will be responsible for:

•           Product Process Development for both internal manufacturing processes and supplier

            manufacturing process controls to insure quality on-time delivery capability.

•           Support for Continuous Product Quality Improvement – Drive corrective actions to address product

           design based performance issues in Operations as

            well Field reported issues. Provide technical feedback to support root cause analysis and  

            corrective action implementation.

•           NPI activities – Capture manufacturing requirements for new products. Develop new product  

             manufacturing processes based on Lean manufacturing

             concepts. As part of the NPI team, represent operations in cross-functional design reviews and

             recommend engineering enhancements/changes from manufacturing aspects. Co-ordinate with

             NPI leads and other functions in operations for resource allocations, process developments to 

            meet the NPI deadlines. Capture system testing requirements for new products and initiate test

             process developments.

•           Packaging – Manage packaging execution projects with internal marketing, Philips design,

            purchasing, quality and 3rd party suppliers.

•           Training stakeholders on the packaging execution process for continuous improvement

•           Prioritize packaging structure projects for new products and improvement projects for existing

             products. Balance workload to ensure timely launches  within cross-functional team framework.

•           Ensure packaging concepts optimized for manufacturing and cost constraints.

•           Create specifications for product shipper box and pallet configurations.

•           Coordinate packaging quality testing per international shipping standards.

•           Define and select material specification to meet cost constraints and sustainability guidelines.

•           Documentation – Develop, document and maintain build and test instructions for all product lines.

•           Defect Reports – Document defect reports as per the quality and regulatory standards. Perform

             timely closures for the open defect reports.

•           Bill of Material (BOM) savings – Identify opportunities to contribute towards current BOM savings

             initiatives.

•           Continuous improvements – Continue implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives. Do Kaizan,

             AWO and contribute to End2End transformations.

We are looking for

•           Associate/Bachelor of Science Industrial Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Biomedical

             Engineering.

•           0-3 years experience in Manufacturing Support or Equivalent

•           Knowledge and experience in product packaging design

•           Some process development and control experience

•           Structured and organized, capable of keeping up with changes and influence for results

•           PC skills – word, excel, powerpoint, visio, CAD packages

•           Good interpersonal and communications skills, presentation skills and some statistical analysis

            ability

•           Knowledge of FDA, ISO quality systems.

•           Experience in FDA regulated industry a plus.

•           Travel requirements approx. 15%


Qualifications
