What's the role?
As an Application Developer, you will be determining functional specifications and delivering the development of quality applications/systems while striving to minimize cost and optimize maintainability. In support of the service management team, your duties will encompass unit testing and maintenance of applications/systems (including vendor packages), as well as configuration and troubleshooting of related business applications. Further, to verify that service level agreements have been met, your responsibilities will include gathering and reporting metrics. In order to facilitate efficient sharing of knowledge, you will prepare and maintain applications/systems documentation. Above all, you are a strategic thinker; you take ownership of issues, moving between diverse tasks with cooperation and persistence to motivate and bring out the best in those around you.
 

Additional Information:  This posting is for a position on the Investment and Financial Management Application Support Team. This is a dynamic and fast paced development team environment, with a broad range of small projects related to our Investment and Financial Management functions.  The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and ability to learn quickly.  Experience with one or more of the technologies is required:  Java, ASP.NET (i.e. C#), JavaScript, Informatica and/or Unix scripts.  The ideal candidate would also have Financial Services experience and/or educational background (e.g. Finance, Accounting and MIS majors/minors).  Agile delivery experience a plus.   We will train and invest in the right candidate!

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to logically analyze and creatively solve issues independently
  • Preferrably a 3.0 GPA or at least 1 year of development experience beyond college
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with immediate team members, other IS areas, and clients in other departments
  • Responsible for staying current with enterprise standards, industry standards and technologies, methodologies and best practices
