Description:

Bring your innovation, quest for knowledge, and engineering mastery to help Northwestern Mutual create a leading digital experience.

You will be key member of a new technology team tasked to build and extend features within our new micro-service platform. Your work will directly impact both Northwestern Mutual clients as well as our Financial Representatives. You’ll be empowered with best of breed technologies such as REST APIs, Amazon Web Services, Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL and Spring Boot.

Expectations:

• Within 1 week create an isolated test environment with Docker-compose or Kubernetes
• Within 1 month ship a new feature enhancement to production
• Within 1 month work with Technical Lead and Product Owner to define the technical roadmap
• Within 3 months ship a major new feature to production
• Within 12 months successfully execute the roadmap

Bring Your Best! What we’re looking for:

- 5+ Years of experience working with server side Java Development

- 2+ Years of experience building REST APIs

- 1+ Years of experience working with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, RedShift.

- Expert level grasp of relational database design and SQL

- Expert level understanding of object oriented programming and common design patterns

- Working knowledge with a variety of data storage and caching solutions

            (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Redis, Memcache)
