Position: .Net Engineer

 

To support our growing team, we are looking for an agile developer. You’re the right fit if you’re a great team player and there isn’t a problem you can’t solve. We need an application developer who is passionate about writing code that meets business needs.

 

You will be working on a team amongst teams building enhancements and new functionality for applications that are used to issue life insurance. These applications are evolving with vision of a digital client experience for Northwestern Mutual.  This team is located in Franklin.

 

Your general milestones are as follows:

 

  • Within the first month – while working with other developers on the teams, be able to jump head-first into modifying applications and ask the appropriate questions / do the appropriate research to identify the general functions and behaviors of the applications you’re working on.
  • Within three months – be able to pick up and work on any existing application, contribute directly to technical discussions that affect the current and future state of the applications.  Essentially, contributing to the team at your full capacity.

Education / Professional Experience

 

Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field

5+ years Development experience in C# or VB .NET

Working knowledge of nUnit, MS Test, or similar unit testing

Experience writing and debugging .NET applications

Skilled in troubleshooting distributed systems

Familiarity with Informatica and Team Foundation Server is a plus
