UAS OPERATOR

  • CLEARANCE: Secret
  • LOCATION: OCONUS (100% Overseas)

Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Operators support military and civilian customer operations worldwide. Candidates must be willing to deploy overseas to austere/non-permissive environments. A candidate must become a certified Operator and/or Maintainer on specific UAS platforms. Once certified as a UAS Operator and/or Maintainer the individual will be available for deployed assignments.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preflight checklists and participate in mission briefings

• Review Airspace requirements and operate systems safely and within requirements of applicable flight regulations as required by the OEM, Military, Unit, and specific location requirements

• Operates UAS and monitors UAS “health” systems. Responds to emergency procedures as required

• Operates various sensor systems as required by the mission

• Participates in post-mission debriefing. Fills out appropriate forms and prepares for following days operations

• Utilizes checklist and appropriate operations manuals to operate the UAV safely

• Assists with various maintenance actions as required by the site manager

Additionally Operators may:

• Assist with preflight planning to include mission briefings, weather forecasts, Notice to Airmen (NOTAMS), Special Instructions (SPINs), and airspace requirements

• Executes mission and assists with the delivery of payload data

• Completes post-mission reports/logs

• Performs limited UAS and ground support equipment troubleshooting and maintenance

• Documents maintenance actions

• Assists with inventory of UAS spares/components and reports cycle counts

• May assist in demonstration flights



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Secret DoD Security Clearance

• Ability to work independently and in a small team environment

• Willingness to travel no less than 9 months out of every year (CONUS and OCONUS)

• Eligible to obtain a Class II FAA Flight physical

• Ability to pass Company Background

• Ability to pass pre-deployment medical and dental screenings in accordance with MOD 12 recruitments (CRC/NDC)

• Strong computer literacy

• Ability to pass FAA Ground School

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior Military Service including operational deployment supporting the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT)

• Private Pilot or better (Commercial/Instrument/CFI/CFII)

• Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) experience

• Mission Commander experience

• Knowledge of civilian and military airspace

• Imagery Analyst Intelligence school

• Previous OCONUS deployment experience with a UAS

• TS/SCI eligible

• Solid background in ISR Systems and Operations

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics, Aerospace Engineering, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, or related field
