Job Description

Position: Hiring Supervisor

Department: Human Resources

Location: Heavener, OK


Work Schedule

Days: Monday – Friday Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Shift: 1st

This position is: Full Time 


                                 

Summary Fills requisitions for open jobs. Performs screening and hiring of applicants. Answers unemployment claims, appeals and hearings by performing the following duties.               


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


• Performs interviews with perspective employees.

• Performs orientation with new employees.

• Provides new employees with ID badges.

• Performs exit interviews with terminated employees.

• Fills requisitions. 

• Opens and closes job orders, when necessary.

• Contacts temporary employees, once they have reached the required number of hours worked, and offers them permanent employment.

• Prepares new hire reports.

• Performs release of checks and verifies that all company equipment is returned.

• Pulls I-9’s and files for terminated employees.

• Files terminated employee paperwork for personnel, medical and FMLA files.

• Provides employment dates and wage verification for attorneys and employees.

• Completes check requests for renewal of expired checks.

• Completes check requests for payroll corrections, deduction and renewal of expired checks.

• Covers hiring coordinator's responsibilities when necessary.

• Scans I-9 and its supporting documents.

• Moves scanned I-9’s to Termination e-files.

• Gathers and assumes custody of I-9’s and their supporting documents until sent to Compliance Officer.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises one employee in the Hiring Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Must have a valid driver's license and must qualify for the company driving program.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Human Resource systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
