Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

As an integral member of the Finance team and reporting to the Controller, this role has both hands-on accounting duties and supervisory duties.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, hire, and train the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Revenue Posting teams and ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reconciliation of assigned GL accounts, including follow-up on outstanding items
  • Assist with internal and external reporting as applicable
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed assets schedules for each entity
  • Determine system improvements and implement change to keep pace with the rapid growth strategy of the company
  • Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely yearend audit
  • Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policies; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues
  • Assist in preparation of financial reports as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of practical accounting and supervisor experience with a team of 5 or more
  • Accounting designation; CA or CGA
  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and to be a committed team player
  • Ability to provide exceptional internal and external customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
