On-Ride Entertainment, LLC. is an independent film studio based in the Greater Philadelphia area. We write, direct, and produce short and feature films.

The Assistant Hair & Makeup Artist is responsible for working with the Hair & Makeup Artist and Director to bring each character to life on-screen. The Asst. HMUA will determine the proper makeup applications based on location, lighting, and camera used. The Asst. HMUA should expect to work under pressure and gain some valuable experience.

Responsbilities Include:

• production study: reading scripts to ascertain the materials and the look required, budget implications and identifying areas where research is required;
• producing and sketching design ideas for hairstyles and make-up;
• ensuring continuity in hair and make-up and liaising with other members of the design team to ensure the overall look/effect is consistent and coherent;
• demonstrating and implementing a practical understanding of lighting, the photographic process, colours and the impact of special effects/make-up processes on the skin;
• ensuring that appropriate action is taken to minimise unpleasant side effects from the use of specialist make-up/hairdressing techniques;
• fitting and maintaining wigs, hairpieces and prosthetics;
• hairdressing;
• working quickly and accurately in time-pressured conditions.

• Should have 1-3 years previous hair & make up experience.
• Must be willing to work under Deferred Payment.
• Must be able to commit to filming dates of December 2012 - February 2013.
• Must reside in the Greater Philadelphia Area or be willing to commute or relocate without reimbursement.
• Must be hard-working and dedicated!
• Must be willing to have fun and work on a great team!
