JOB SUMMARY:   
This position will work under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse performs various duties. Performs patient care responsibilities. Gathers patient data and vital signs to include blood samples and culture specimens. Initiates and terminates dialysis treatments with permanent fistula or graft. Documents treated information. Responsible for set up, operation, cleaning and disinfecting related equipment. Prepares, administers and records medications as allowed by state regulations. Participate in the care center's QA. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:   
Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Participate in the Admission/Discharge process of all patients under guidance of the Registered Nurse or designee. Perform tasks related to maintaining the integrity of patient care standards and efficient unit operations. 1. Clean and set-up exam room between patients.2. Introduces her/himself to the patient , family, and answers questions as appropriate 3. Take vital signs as well as height and weight. 4. Assist with patient discharge as assigned, including ensuring that all patient belongings are accounted for. 5. Draws blood specimens according to policy and procedure manual for their delivery to the laboratory in a timely manner. Performs capillary blood testing. 6. Prepares unit, patient treatment area and stretcher to receive patient including routine cleaning of area and equipment. 7. Provides am or pm care to include assistance in making occupied or unoccupied bed, bed bath or set up oral care and skin care. 8. Performs EKGs and ensures that accurate results from 12 lead computerized electrocardiograms are provided. Upload 12 lead EKGs into the Muse system after each procedure. Ensure updated, accurate documentation and logs of EKGs. 9. Assist with toileting needs of patients and answer call lights immediately. 10. Actively participates in the collection, development and reporting of data for CQI initiatives. Inspects all patient rooms to ensure customer expectations and quality standards for cleanliness are met. Assists RN in provision of care of all assigned patients. Observation and timely reporting of patient needs and conditions to the RN. Intake and output and notifies RN of abnormal results. Responds to patient's call-light immediately. Adheres to nursing policies, procedures, and established nursing standards. Responds to emergency plans as directed by the department unit responsibilities. Maintains unit cleanliness. QUALIFICATIONS:   
High school diploma or equivalent. Certification requirement may be waived with verifiable on-the-job training and experience It is an essential part of the job that the employer can ask the employee to work beyond his/her regularly scheduled hours.
