Our Solution Sales Specialist partners with our Director of Sales and Business Development to qualify and close new business on Microsoft Project and Portfolio Management solutions. Provides specific industry or product expertise to facilitate the closing of deals within sales representatives territory. Interacts with sales team to architect the solution, and develop and execute solution strategies for market. Manages solution opportunities to obtain appropriate and necessary resources for all qualified opportunities. Leads teams in the sales process for establishing market visibility and deal visibility. Presents/demonstrates solution to high level clients and industry conference attendees. May provide training to field sales on industry/solutions. Builds and maintains a network and up to date specific industry or product knowledge.
Job Requirements: Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes. 8 years applicable experience preferred. Subject matter expertise in industry/product space. Knowledge of key industry leaders and management. Knowledge of Microsoft competition. Presentation and product demonstration experience. Previous consultative selling experience preferred. Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills with prospects and customers. Willingness to Travel may be needed. BA/BS degree in related field.
Additional Details: This person will be responsible for assisting with the go to market strategy for PPM Works business in the Northeast (however may support additional territories as necessary). The position requires the person to work closely with our customers, sales teams, Microsoft SSP’s, delivery and development teams to best understand the industry trends and opportunities and how to uniquely position Microsoft to take advantage of those opportunities and prepare the sales team to do the same.
1.) Industry Experience: 6 – 8 years of experience in sales and sales strategy development related to IT and/or PPM Solutions.
2.) Sales Experience: Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and/or to sell concepts/ideas to managers.
- Industry Specific Knowledge
- Functional Best Practice Knowledge: Industry specific best practice knowledge in at least one of the key solution areas (PPM Process, Change Management, Enterprise Solutions, business development, sales strategy, etc.)
- Communication/ Problem Solving Skills: Exceptional business problem solving combined with strong interpersonal skills. Outstanding oral and presentation communication skills.
