Description:

Seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer/Administrator to join a growing team responsible for the deployment and administration of physical and virtual Linux servers and centralized storage.


Responsibilities:

-Plan, design, and manage the deployment of highly available IT infrastructure and associated support services, including Linux servers, storage, and infrastructure services (i.e. authentication, authorization, DNS, NTP, etc.).
-Automate and monitor various aspects of the environment.
-Manage and administer VMware environment.
-Manage the Storage Area Network including allocating storage, LUN mapping, monitoring, and performance analysis.
-Work with internal customers to understand functional requirements and make systems changes and hardware recommendations accordingly.
-Identify, troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues.
-Build automation into daily processes, including server builds, patching, and configuration analysis.
-Support mission-critical trading applications in a fast-paced environment.
-Continue development of team documentation, policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements:

-B.S. or equivalent.
-At least 5 years hands on experience with enterprise Linux environments.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Ability to succeed under pressure and in fast paced environment.
-Experience with clustering, replication, and other high-availability and disaster recovery technologies.
-Experience with multiple UNIX and Linux platforms including Ubuntu and CentOS.
-Experience with configuration management platforms such as BCFG2, Puppet, and/or Chef.
-Experience with VMware vSphere 5.x+.
-Experience with Dell and HP server hardware.
-Experience with storage arrays.
-Experience using scripting languages for task automation (Python, Bash, Perl, etc.).
-Experience in the financial services industry a plus.
