Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, our staff includes Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Licensed Psychologists, Registered Nurses, and a consulting Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to prescribe medications. Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Billing Manager, the Senior Billing Specialist is a non-licensed professional in a Substance Abuse Treatment Program who works with Billing Specialists and Billing Clerks to complete current billing and resolve billing issues. Senior Billing Specialists audit client’s charts to ensure funding is secured and is the first point of escalation for complex matters in the department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Audit client data to ensure funding, and clinical information are up to date.
2. Maintain regular communication with Billing Office Manager and Clinical Staff regarding client data and other information learned about client.
3. Work with third-party payers to secure funding for clients and ensure accuracy of funding details.
4. Act as the first point of escalation for complex matters needing resolution within the department.
5. Lead process improvements within the department.
6. Train new employees on departmental procedures.
7. Maintain professional relationship with clients while following a code of ethics.
8. Ensure that program administrative operations are conducted in compliance with all pertinent local, state, and federal laws as well as all other mandated requirements
9. Know and comply with client rights, outlined in part 4747.1500 and of staff responsibilities.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred.
2. Computer literacy required including previous experience with an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system or computer billing system. Procentive strongly preferred.
3. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to achieve outcomes.
4. Must have analytical, data entry, mathematical, problem solving skills and root cause analysis skills.
5. Must have a working knowledge of issues regarding confidentiality.
6. Must be able to maintain positive public relations with referring agencies and business community at large.
7. Must possess good verbal skills and present positive professional image.
8. Established relationships with different medical insurance providers and other funding sources.
9. Extensive experience resolving aged receivables.
10. Experience billing mental health serves and previous medical billing experience.
11. At the time of hiring, must be free of chemical use problems for at least one year immediately preceding and sign a statement attesting to that fact

Additional Information

This is a full-time, benefits eligible position working Monday-Friday typical business hours ranging from 7am-4pm.
