Park Avenue Center provides evidence based gender specific drug and alcohol treatment in south Minneapolis, Minnesota. First established in 1979, Park Avenue Center is a community-based program that proudly serves Minnesota’s less fortunate individuals in beautiful settings. Using evidence-based best practices, we have maintained a reputation for the highest quality of services at extremely low rates. Clients we serve typically struggle with multiple barriers including mental illness, homelessness, financial problems, legal issues, and an overall lack of emotional support. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, our staff includes Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Licensed Psychologists, Registered Nurses, and a consulting Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to prescribe medications. Our robust Mental Health Team allows us to help clients address their various needs and our EAGALA certified staff enables us to provide unique experiential therapy in a calming countryside location. Job Description

  1. Implements therapeutic service while keeping with Park Ave Center’s philosophy.
  2. Supports counseling personnel of Park Avenue Center with day-to-day clinical operations.
  3. Available to respond to client needs, crisis management, etc.
  4. Provides training and supervision of support personnel (front desk staff, drivers, speakers) to assure quality of care.
  5. Participates in the recruitment, interviewing, selection and orientation of support staff (front desk staff, drivers, speakers).
  6. Demonstrates understanding and monitors organizational compliance with all appropriate professional      standards, licensing and certification requirements.
  7. Functions as appropriate role model to Park Avenue Center staff and clients.
  8. Informs the Treatment Director of all pertinent information related to program operations and      environment that may impact the organization.
  9. If the Treatment Director and Clinical Director is unavailable or out of the office, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the entire agency.
  10. Conducts meaningful program of self development by attending seminars, conferences, etc., to keep apprised of new methods and procedures.
  11. Must know and understand the implications of parts 9530.6405 to 9530.6505 (Rule 31), and      Minnesota Statutes, sections 245A (Human Services Licensing Act – HSLA), 626.556 (Maltreatment of Minors Act – MOMA), 626.557 (Vulnerable Adults Act – VAA), and 626.5572 (VAA Definitions).

Qualifications

  1. Must be a Minnesota Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
  2. Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree and three years of general work experience in administration or personnel supervision in human services.
  3. Three years experience providing individual and group counseling to chemically dependent clients.
  4. Working knowledge of chemical dependency treatment continuum. Position requires experience in      group process and individual counseling and an understanding of the family dynamics in the disease of chemical dependency.
  5. Demonstrated leadership skills.
  6. Strong written and oral communication skills: excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  7. At the time of hiring, must be free of chemical use problems for at least the two years immediately preceding and sign a statement attesting to that fact.
  8. Must be able to develop referral base and maintain positive public relations with referring agencies and business community at large.
  9. Must possess good verbal skills and present in a positive professional image.
  10. Must pass background check.
