Clients we serve typically struggle with multiple barriers including mental illness, homelessness, financial problems, legal issues, and an overall lack of emotional support. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, our staff includes Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Licensed Psychologists, Registered Nurses, and a consulting Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to prescribe medications. Job Description


The Maintenance Technician/Painter’s primary role is to support the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Engineers in maintaining Park Avenue Center properties and grounds.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Day to day maintenance of agency facilities including major remodeling, small repairs and building upkeep as directed by Maintenance Manager.

2. Paint a variety of exterior and interior spaces including the programming buildings and offsite client residences.

  3. Prepare various surfaces for painting via washing, scraping, sanding, etc., as well as plastering holes and cracks if needed.

4. Respond to and complete assigned work orders in a timely and appropriate manner


Qualifications


1. Experience in building maintenance and/or one or more years painting experience.

2. Current MN Driver’s License

3. Ability to pass a background check through the MN Department of Human Services

4. Must be free from problematic substance use for 1 year and sign a statement attesting to that fact upon hire

5. Ability to display high levels of client service by responding promptly and thoroughly to the needs of both internal and external parties in accordance with Park Avenue Center standards and policies.

6. Must be detail-oriented and organized with effective time management skills

7. Hear, speak and effectively communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions and communicating with parties inside and outside of the organization

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, squat, climb, lift, stand and walk frequently in the performance of responsibilities including prep and painting of interior and exterior surfaces.
