Park Avenue Center provides evidence based gender specific drug and alcohol treatment in south Minneapolis, Minnesota. First established in 1979, Park Avenue Center is a community-based program that proudly serves Minnesota’s less fortunate individuals in beautiful settings. Using evidence-based best practices, we have maintained a reputation for the highest quality of services at extremely low rates. Clients we serve typically struggle with multiple barriers including mental illness, homelessness, financial problems, legal issues, and an overall lack of emotional support. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, our staff includes Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Licensed Psychologists, Registered Nurses, and a consulting Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to prescribe medications. Our robust Mental Health Team allows us to help clients address their various needs and our EAGALA certified staff enables us to provide unique experiential therapy in a calming countryside location. Job Description

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible, under the direction of the Human Resource Director for a broad range of duties associated with human resource management, including employee recruitment and hiring, compensation and benefits, personnel policies, performance review, employee orientation, employee relations, affirmative action, and compliance reporting.

• Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all agency personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; updates and maintains the employee handbook and policies and procedural manual.
• Oversees recruitment, posting job advertisements, hiring process, and employee orientation for all exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees.
• Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
• Performs benefits administration including claims resolution and change reporting and communicating benefit information to employees.
• Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
• Develops and maintains affirmative action program, meeting all EEO data and reporting regulations.
• Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
• Researches and recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of human resource services.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of three - five years of Human Resource experience
• Basic knowledge, understanding and practice of Human Resource concepts and employment law.
• Proficient using Microsoft and other software applications.
• Demonstrated ability to protect confidential information.
• Strong problem-solving abilities in conflict resolution.
• Able to work with people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds
