Park Avenue Center provides evidence based gender specific drug and alcohol treatment in south Minneapolis, Minnesota. First established in 1979, Park Avenue Center is a community-based program that proudly serves Minnesota’s less fortunate individuals in beautiful settings. Using evidence-based best practices, we have maintained a reputation for the highest quality of services at extremely low rates. Clients we serve typically struggle with multiple barriers including mental illness, homelessness, financial problems, legal issues, and an overall lack of emotional support. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, our staff includes Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Licensed Psychologists, Registered Nurses, and a consulting Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to prescribe medications. Our robust Mental Health Team allows us to help clients address their various needs and our EAGALA certified staff enables us to provide unique experiential therapy in a calming countryside location. Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Park Avenue Center is expanding mental health services within the community, and is looking for an experienced mental health professional to conduct diagnostic assessments with community partners and provide client services support within the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide Mental Health assessments as needed.

2. Maintain all needed correspondence with community partners as applicable.

3. Develop accurate and timely reports summarizing findings of diagnostic assessments.

4. Maintain professional relationship with clients while following a strict code of ethics.

5. Collaborate with partners within the community, including but not limited to courts and probation officers.

6. Maintain positive and professional relationships with the community as a representative of Park Avenue Center.

7. Additional duties may include providing clinical and supervisory support for Park Avenue Center programs including, but not limited to, groups and lectures.

Qualifications

1. Must have earned at minimum, a Master’s Degree in psychology and must be licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in good standing.

2. Must document competence in assessing and working with clients with mental health problems, through education, training, and experience.

3. Maintain compliance with the rules adopted under MN Statutes, chapter 148C.

4. Must possess good verbal skills and be capable of presenting positive professional image.

5. At the time of hiring, must be free of chemical use problems for at least the two years immediately preceding and sign a statement attesting to that fact.

6. Must pass a background check.
