Each group is led by an executive director and supported by a number of highly skilled consultants, analysts, managers and other specialized staff. JOB SUMMARY:



This position directs, plans, and manages fire safety and prevention program, establishes fire prevention measures and insures conformance to fire prevention codes and practices. Reviews planned construction and existing buildings for compliance with the Life Safety Code.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:


Responsibilities include: Provide fire protection engineering service to assigned projects. Input to project planning manhours, resourcing and reporting. Manage and direct external contracts for specialist studies. Interface directly with client representatives. Keep abreast of current regulations to ensure compliance. Development of Fire Protection P&IDs. Development of Fire Risk Analysis. Development of Fire Water Demand Analysis. Development of Fire Zone Maps/Hazard Maps. Fire and Gas Philosophy and Detection drawings. Fire Protection equipment specifications, datasheet preparation, inquiry and purchase requisitions, bid tabulations and vendor interface. Good inter-personal and communication skills and can work with minimal supervision.



QUALIFICATIONS:


Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in fire protection or general safety or 60 hours toward a degree in a science related field. One to three years of directly related experience. May substitute years of experience for each completed year of college on a one-to-one basis. Certification must be obtained within one year of employment.
