Job Description

Position Summary: 

The LPN/ Medical Assistant works as part of the medical office team performing those clinical and clerical duties necessary to prepare patients for a visit, and assisting with patient visit as needed. The hours for this position will be M-Th, 8 am - 7 pm (4/10 hr shifts).

Essential Duties:

•Prepare medical treatment room and set up patient care equipment

•Prepare patients for tests or treatments

•Use sanitation practices in health care settings

•Assist in examining or treating medical patients as needed

•Follow medical office procedures

•Record medical history or data

•Weight patients and take vital signs

•Collect specimens from patients, draw blood

•Prepare sample for laboratory testing, analysis, or microscope

•Follow patient care procedures

•Sterilize or disinfect instruments

•Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines

•Manages the care of patients in collaboration with other health professionals and members of the health care team in order to make decisions about treatment and attain health goals.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse in State of Nebraska; OR
  • Must have completed a Medical Assistant program
  • Certified Medical Assistant a plus
  • *If Medical Assistant, must have or be able to obtain Medication Aide License
  • Certified - Basic Life Support required
  • Ability to work with a computer and EHR required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual a plus, but not required
