Job Description

Director of Information Technology - $120-150K range – Pharmaceuticals & OTC products Mfg - Will create and orchestrate, in conjunction with input from the business and technical staff, the company’s IT strategy and operating plan. The person in this position will lead the building of key IT capabilities appropriate for a growing a specialty pharmaceutical business. The IT Director will identify and deliver information system enhancements that will improve operations and support current and future business needs, with particular focus on maintaining a cGMP facility and regulatory document validation. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, controlling and managing all IT operations relating to the support of product development and manufacturing processes in a cGMP facility. The position requires a high level of innovation, drive and energy to build the capabilities in an entrepreneurial, fast paced and highly regulated environment. Technical and business acumen are critical to translate the needs and requirements of the company and pharmaceutical industry into working practice. The ability to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals within the organization, as well as drive timely, cost effective deliverables from vendors, are key success factors.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Business Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. 7-10 years IT experience within a manufacturing environment with preference for pharmaceutical IT experience or highly regulated entrepreneurial industry with Regulatory and Compliance expertise. Experience supporting IT compliance and an understanding of validated environments.  3-5 plus years’ experience in a management capacity having demonstrated strong understanding and experience with overall IT architecture, infrastructure and communication requirements. Knowledge of computer system regulatory requirements as they relate to systems development, testing and validation preferred; including 21 CFR Part 11 requirements. Knowledgeable about cGxPs and Quality Management processes. Experience with implementing and maintaining Enterprise Resource Planning Systems. Network administration experience utilizing Microsoft SQL Server is a must. Demonstrated knowledge of server/desktop virtualization preferred. Knowledge of unified communications solutions is a plus. Working knowledge of JD Edwards and Quality by Design preferred.
