Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Magento Engineer that’s passionate about creating efficient, scalable software and services. The ideal candidate will have solid Magento experience, an understanding of the full software stack, have their finger on the pulse of new technologies and strive to create elegant code.

Our technology team is focusing on ecommerce using
open source technologies, we strive for excellent design and rich user
experience.

Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our technology and creative teams to create new features and services
  • Build and define best-practices for Magento projects
  • Create clean, well-documented and efficient software and services
  • Maintain, refactor and optimize existing sites and services

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in Object Oriented PHP
  • Experience with Magento and various integrations
  • Experience with web frameworks such as Zend, CakePHP, Rails or Django
  • Experience with CMS/Blog platforms such as Drupal, Expression Engine, WordPress, MT or Alfresco
  • Expertise in RDBMS programming, modeling and optimization using MySQL or Postgresql
  • Experience developing and interacting with REST-ful web services
  • Expertise in writing tests and test-able code
  • Experience with modern version control (git, bitbucket) and workflows

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with SOAP web services and PCI compliance
  • Proficiency in other languages such as Python or Ruby (extra credit for Java, C++, Go or Scala)
  • Knowledge and experience with implementing various GoF design patterns
  • Proficiency with Linux maintenance and light system administration
  • DevOps experience with frameworks such as Chef or Puppet
  • Experience with NoSQL engines such as MongoDB, Redis or Couch
  • Experience with TDD, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban
  • Involvement in open source projects or regular Meetup groups
