PhillyTech is working with an exciting Agricultural Tech (AgTech) Internet of Things (IoT) startup company with offices and team members in Malvern, PA, Silicon Valley, Sparks, Nevada and NYC. They are delivering and innovative and differentiated Internet of Things (IoT) Soil Sensor and just in time Service offering to farmers and food producers in the United States and around the world. They will be filing for many patents for their work in this area and will be leaders in the industry.

They are at the forefront of the AgTech IoT industry and are driving the creation of a space coined as the "Internet of Soil". The idea with IoT AgTech is to maximize resource savings and greater food productivity / production through a combination of in-ground sensors, capturing data in the cloud, adding on machine learning and analytics in order to enable farmers and food producers to understand and take action to improve the contents of their soil and maximize the output of their crops.

Overview of their Cloud Based Platform:

Real Time Analytics

• Heatmap visualization of sensor readings over time on crop map.

• Event timeline of weather conditions, irrigation, soil amendments, fertilizer applications, soil samples, planting, harvest.

• View individual sensor readings and statistical analysis of crop data.

• Alerts and Messaging to keep growers informed about their crops like never before.

Machine Learning

• Predictive analytics of crop data for amendment subscriptions and irrigation.

• Anomaly detection and early warning of crop diseases and pests.

• Optimize irrigation, soil health, crop yield, planting and harvest.

Aggregation of third party data into cloud

• Drone photos and video (image detection of pests and disease).

• Soil sample analysis.

• Supply chain orchestration.

Agronomist Analysis

• Real time communication with assigned Agronomists.

• Amendment recipes.

• (Future) Regional Social Networking with area growers to share insights, disease and pest issues. 

Overview of the Job Opportunity:

• They have received their initial round of seed funding and are looking for a Mid-Level or Senior Front Engineer to OWN the front-end interface of their software platform.

• This is an extremely exciting opportunity to be on the ground floor of an exciting AgTech IoT company and work with a dynamic tech and executive team that has already had successful exits.

• This is a new hire on a strong leadership and technical team that includes the Founders, CTO and Senior IoT Engineers.

• You will work closely with their satellite imagery partner to incorporate custom daily satellite feeds into the platform.

• The Mid-Level or Senior Front End Engineer will OWN the front end interface of their software platform and work closely with the CTO (located in Malvern, PA), Senior IoT Engineers (located in Silicon Valley and Sparks, NV) and senior executives located in NYC to build and deliver a world class interface of their software platform.

• You will have the opportunity to work from a home office and / or office space located in the Malvern, PA area.

• You will receive a strong compensation package that includes, base salary along with equity ownership, leadership and growth opportunities.

• They are looking for a Mid-Level or Senior Front-end Engineer that has experience in JavaScript, AngularJS and / or ReactJS.
  

• You need to be lean, agile, aggressive on development timelines, a strong communicator and team player.

• You MUST have a portfolio of software applications on GitHub or software applications you have built and can describe that demonstrate your passion for development and technical experience.

• You MUST have a minimum of 5+ years working with JavaScript libraries and have experience working with AngularJS and / or ReactJS.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• MEAN stack with a focus on AngularJS and / or ReactJS.

• Web development: Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, Javascript.

• Cloud Deployment: AWS.

• Past experience with DevOps and high availability systems. 

• Agile methodology: capable of value-engineering based on business needs, timelines, cost of development (money/time).

Bonus Qualifications

• Prior AgTech and IoT experience would be a plus, but is not required.
