Job Description

Position Summary:

This position is focused on the design, maintenance, and enhancement of the IP voice network, platforms and products. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to the following:

Essential Responsibilities:

· Lifecycle management of unified communications (UC) features, applications, related voice systems and network equipment including; Session Border Controllers, SIP Application Servers, Media Gateways, Mail Servers, etc…

· Periodic on-call rotations, 24x7 emergency Tier III availability

· After hours’ maintenance and augmentation of platforms and network assets

· Respond to Tier III escalations of customer issues as it pertains to communications platforms

· Provide training and mentoring to other team members

· Support a wide range of network infrastructure and customer services

· Fluent in telecommunications terminology

· Support multi-functional teams in support of product development

· Establish and monitor network alarms and events

· Maintain and improve various process and back-office systems, including network inventory and OSS provisioning

· Develop and implement solutions for various business and client needs

· Develop and support procedures for ensuring voice network survivability and disaster recovery.

· Ability to analyze, interpret, and respond to diagnostics and other data

· Assist Network Operations personnel with issue resolution

• Broadsoft and Gendband Platforms
• ACME/Oracle SBC Net-Net’s
• Ocom, Wireshark, PCAP applications
• Elastic logging systems
• Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet, Vagrant, Docker, VMware, OpenStack, Capistrano

Work Environment:
• Operations Center (HQ) - Troy, MI
• Data Center – Southfield, MI
• Central Offices and Colocation facilities
• Customer Locations

Physical Demands:
• Operate in typical office environment
• Effective verbal and written communication ability
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
