Job Description

This position is focused on maintenance and enhancement of the IP Voice network, platforms and products. Areas of responsibility include but not limited to the following. 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

•      Development of new features

•      Lab testing of new features

•      Creation of best practices for product deployment

•      Documentation of features and products

•      Deployment of new network gear

•      Lab testing of new network equipment

•      Periodic on-call rotation

•      After hours maintenance of network assets

•      Provide training to other team members

•      Handle Tier III escalations related to VIOP issues

•      Support a wide range of network infrastructure and customer services

•      Configure, install, maintenance and provisioning of telecommunications equipment and software

•      Programming and interfacing with telecommunications hardware and networks

•      Fluent in telecommunications terminology 

•      Reviews the program quality performance to provide analysis and obtain corrective actions where necessary.

•      Support multi-functional teams in support of product development

•      Work to improve processing used within the product engineering area of responsibility

•      Investigation and resolution of service/systems problems and customer support

•      Interfacing with OSS System including updating network/system inventory

•      Architect software solutions based on customer/client requirements and business needs.

•      Configuration, operation and maintenance of Session Border Controllers (SBC’s), SIP Application Servers, Media Gateway Controllers, Domain Name Servers (DNS), Radius Servers. 

•      Support schedules/perform hardware/software/OS upgrades as required to keep all computer systems running at peak performance and reduce system sensitivity to bugs/errors. 

•      Perform periodic backups and provide procedures for disaster recovery and network survivability. 

•      Ability to troubleshoot with diagnostics

•      Ability to analyze and interpret data

•      Assist Network Operations personnel with issue resolution

•      Network augments

•      Ensure network inventory is kept current; currently being tracked manually, automation pending upgrade in BSS/OSS

•      Monitor and interpret network alarms 

•      Access to all technical information, systems and customer accounts for trouble shooting and account resolution
