Role

The focus of this position is to improve the safety and reliability of the mechanical work executed in this employee’s area of responsibility.   This role works closely with the area reliability team to increase equipment availability by both solving chronic equipment issues and by effectively planning both daily work and outage work.   This role is also responsible for executing improvement projects to improve both people and equipment performance.

Accountabilities

·         Complete Safety Contacts weekly.  Ensure identified safety work orders are effectively planned and executed within 45 days.   Safety must be built into all job plans and reliability improvements;

·         Essential part of the area manufacturing team to determine projects and improvements to reduce unplanned downtime and cost.  Work with the team to prioritize and plan improvements;

·         Assist with all phases of equipment repair including, but not limited to: troubleshooting, diagnosing, recommendations, execution, and follow up;

·         Improve the reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in the area(s) of responsibility;

·         Lead and facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis sessions (RCFA) to prevent recurring failures;

·         Implement reliability best practices to improve precision maintenance. Assist with mechanic and operator training on proper equipment care;

·         Update BOMs in SAP Computer Maintenance Management System and order repair materials, as necessary;

·         Update job procedures and standard job plans.  Must effectively develop a work order plan packet;

·         Safely Lead/Supervise the maintenance crew and contractors, as necessary;

·         Improve lubrication and preventive maintenance routes; 

·         Assist in ODR route development and training;

·         Perform QA/QC on critical maintenance jobs.   Audit and inspect jobs to ensure quality workmanship;

·         Expected to be on call, as necessary and a member of the maintenance weekend duty rotation.

 

Qualifications

·         BS degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, but not required with adequate on-the-job experience and technical knowledge;

·         Five (5) years’ experience in an industrial, manufacturing environment;

·         Supervisory experience in maintenance preferred;

·         Experience/certifications in precision maintenance, lubrication and predictive technologies;

·         SAP PM experience is preferred.   Ability to effectively readily learn computer applications;

·         Microsoft Project experience is a plus.  Must have good computer skills.
