Job Description

This role will directly influence the company’s technology and product roadmaps, along with how we grow and keep our users engaged.


We’re looking for a UI / UX designer with strong core design (visual and interaction) and presentation layer (HTML/CSS) skills to help us create the next generation of Powderhook’s user experience.  We’re a small team that works in a fast-paced, iterative development environment, so the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others is a must. The ideal candidate has a passion for user-centric design, an eye for detail, and a strong understanding of the design process.  We will look to your expertise as we build our company.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience UX / UI web and mobile application frontend, software and tools
  • Strong understanding of usability and what it takes to develop intuitive usable web and mobile software applcations

  • Ability to rapidly-prototype frontend design concepts
  • Experience in creating best-of-class products with a portfolio to back it up
  • Experience with object oriented JavaScript application frameworks, AJAX; XHTML; HMTL5; CSS; jQuery
  • Ability to work both independently with limited supervision and design collaboratively

  • Experience with GIT source code management tools a plus
  • Experience with ERB markup a plus
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails a plus

  • Experience across the entire product lifecycle, from requirements gathering to product launch
  • Desire to grind in a fun environment
