Job Description

Primitive Logic is seeking an experienced Technical Architect who can develop innovative solutions that push the limits of Oracle Weblogic Portal. You should thrive on challenge and solving big hairy problems across the enterprise using your infinite toolbox of techniques and process, as well as your passion for not only doing things the right way – but doing the right things.

You’ll be responsible for the architecture and implementation of large-scale, high-transactional, B2B and B2C websites for well-known clients utilizing Oracle Weblogic Portal – BUT you will be working with an interactive team that lives user experience and usability. You’ll integrate existing and new applications into a seamless user interface while designing and delivering flexible and scalable portal architecture while staying open to new approaches in digital, new creative ideas, new strategies in responsive design, mobile development, and new technologies. You’ll oversee and mentor our technical team while being willing to dive in and code when necessary.

You will need to leverage portal technology to develop highly interactive solutions in combination with our front end mobile and web developers.  You’ll need to be comfortable proposing and defending your solutions and key technical decisions to hard-core programmers and business executives, all while articulating business value professionally and with finesse. If you are the right person – you will be able to hang with the team over coffee, communicate complex ideas with ease, or deliver killer presentations on the tech future.  You can translate tech-speak to easy human comprehension using small words and pictures, but you can whiteboard code like a guru with the best of them.     You are an expert, but not an arrogant one – you can admit when you are wrong and can be open about it.  This  highly technical role that also requires excellent customer focus and advanced organization skills.

As for technical skills, Oracle Weblogic Portal is a must, but someone with deep Java really brings us happiness.  Do you have 8+ years in Java/J2EE development, technologies such as Java Server Faces (JSF), Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), mobile, flexible and responsive design and open source frameworks?  Have you done interactive development beyond Web 2.0 in an enterprise environment?  If so, we’re looking for you.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of web-based development experience
  • Must have strong, extensive and recent experience with Weblogic Portal 10.X development and deployment using ADF
  • Minimum of 1 year functioning as a technical lead
  • Expertise in leading large interactive development efforts working with cross-functional teams
  • 5+ years of Java/J2EE development, with a strong dose of experience in developing web-based applications using AJAX/JQuery/JSON, JSF and Struts.
  • Experience with JSF and at least one other open source framework such as Spring, SpringMVC, Hibernate, DOJO or RichFaces
  • Hands-on development of portal, content management, user Interface, and back-end integration
  • Experience defining and implementing an enterprise application integration strategy using SOA principles and standards along with integration technology such as ESB and BPEL.
  • Understanding of integrating to back-end systems (such as using SOA)
  • Expertise with portal and portlet development standards such as WSRP, JSR-286, etc
  • Previous consulting experience is required
  • Must be willing to travel to client sites in California. Occasional overnight travel may apply.
