Chief Surgical Physician Assistant

PA-OR MGR

Full-Time

Chief Surgical Physician Assistant job responsibilities include the following:

  • Supervises staff and performs clinical evaluations, problem assessments, initiates diagnostic and treatment plans, and educates patients. 
  • Additional duties in precepting students/new employees, performing quality management
    activities, and providing community/professional education offerings.
  • Performs medical care of the patient in any role which the supervisory physician deems proper and consistent with applicable law, hospital regulations, delineation of privileges, and the training, knowledge, skills and experience of the Physician Assistant.

Chief Surgical Physician Assistant candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • In addition, candidates must have a minimum of two years in an accredited specialized Physician's Assistant Program. 
  • Qualified PAs must have at least 5 years of work experience as a Surgical PA.
  • Candidates must have a demonstrated 1-2 years experience in progressive leadership positions, such as a Administrative Lead or Chief.
  • Candidates must be licensed in the State of Massachusetts (or have the ability to obtain one).
  • National certification required to be licensed in Massachusetts. (The State of Massachusetts required recertification every 6 years.)
