Job Title: Cloud Services Engineer

Reports To: Cloud Services Leader

In this role, you will design and develop cloud based event driven services based on top of the AWS Cloud Infrastructure to support the Proteus Software Applications team and other platform consumers. But it doesn’t end there. Here’s a summary of this great opportunity:

Job Description

  • Design and develop cloud based event driven services based on top of the AWS Cloud Infrastructure to support the Proteus Software Applications team and other platform consumers
  • Design and document reusable APIs to support current and future Cloud Services development requirements
  • Support and enhance our event processing pipeline, helping to identify bottlenecks and performance enhancements as well as working with our data science team to implement new data processing algorithms
  • Champion test driven development and continuous delivery of our work
  • Maintain and extend test framework code and tools
  • Help triage, diagnose, debug and fix issues with production systems
  • Write technical documentation as appropriate to illustrate system software design and API usage
  • Other tasks as required to support compliance with regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of experience as a software developer
  • Strong background in server-side JavaScript development using NodeJS
  • Strong background in Python development (preferably Python 3)
  • Experience with writing Spark Streaming jobs
  • Working knowledge of BDD testing frameworks such as Chai and behave
  • Commitment to good programming practices
  • Experience with AWS microservices is a plus
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills along with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team in a collaborative setting
