Job Description

PubMatic’s suite of tools and auction dynamics help our clients maximize revenue from their websites and mobile applications. The Marketplace Manager role is an analytical, business-facing position. The role requires business acumen, technical understanding, and consultative skills to present recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders, all the way up to the C-suite.

The Marketplace Manager is responsible for optimizing auction dynamics across programmatic channels. Key auction dynamic outcomes include the publisher perspective of yield management (fill rate, price, revenue) and advertiser perspective of return on ad spend (click-through rates, conversions, pricing, win rate, etc.). The Manager will be responsible for working with Customer Success teams and clients directly to grow publisher yield and advertiser return on ad spend. The Manager will also be responsible for working with product managers and engineers to build best-in-class marketplace capabilities.

Successful candidates for this position will have strong expertise in analytics, product management, and cross-functional project management. They will also be strong communicators with clients and internal stakeholders. The Manager will often be interfacing directly with executives, internally and externally. In working with clients & Customer Success teams, the Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering yield optimizing strategies, both at the individual account-level and globally. In working with product managers and engineers, the Manager will help prioritize development efforts, set requirements, define success, implement, and iterate solutions.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing auction dynamics to maximize publisher and advertiser satisfaction
  • Innovating, developing, and testing new algorithms to improve auction dynamics
  • Capturing competitive intelligence
  • Optimizing specific publisher accounts to drive improved performance
  • Working with media buyers to understand and improve auction performance
  • Implementing processes and structure to capture media buyer interest in programmatic direct offers and meeting that interest with relevant supply
  • Manage cross-disciplinary projects to create success

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited and recognized institution is required with an advanced degree (MBA, equivalent) preferred
  • Flexibility, and a demonstrated ability and willingness to think strategically and act tactically
  • Excellent analytic abilities
  • Very strong project management and organization skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Passion to learn and willingness to work hard
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and under tight timelines
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and SQL
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in consulting, investment banking, media, and/or technology
