Job Description

You’ll provide leadership and communication planning for media relations and communications to support the Company’s strategic goals. Evaluate media opportunities, leverage content across both internal and external channels, and execute those consistent with PubMatic’s media strategy. Help develop and support crisis management and manage day-to-day news and media relations functions. Work in partnership with other areas in Corporate Communication including Internal Communication and International Marketing. You’ll write content, both on your own and together with a wide array of folks within the company. This individual is a storyteller and writer who is eager to communicate PubMatic’s growth and leadership position worldwide.

Major Focus Areas

  • Serves as a primary contact for corporate news, industry news and media-related functions.
  • Initiates, implements and supports a wide variety of news, promotional and marketing communications including press releases, and all forms of communication with the external media.
  • Brainstorm and execute on various content including blogs, white papers, social postings, internal communications and more.
  • Helps maintain overall crisis preparedness, including through use of online tools and internal monitoring.
  • Oversees corporate/industry group monitoring and reporting about PubMatic in the external marketplace to ensure necessary and timely reaction/response.
  • Develops and fosters positive relations with local, regional, national and international media outlets.
  • Leverages all technology plays in effective media relations, including Podcasts, video communication and digital media. Consistent reuse and re-purposing of content.
  • Works closely with all Industry Groups to coordinate Media Relations efforts; provides strategic advice and counsel.
  • Manages any external PR Firm and coordinates with global PR firms.
  • Delivers consistent creative and unique promotional ideas to elevate and position the brand.
  • Drives and manages all social media activit through contracted resources.
  • Uses metrics and measurement, reports weekly on progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' of relevant experience in communications or public relations in a company or agency setting is required.
  • Experience in advertising technology, digital media, or general advertising preferred.
    Interest and hands on experience in media relations, including crisis/issues management.
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen eye for detail.
  • Highly competent, extremely discreet in their judgment while maintaining high levels of confidentiality.
  • High level of interest and experience in crisis communications.
