Job Description

Product design and development are very core to innovation at PubMatic. At PubMatic, we are constantly working on building new products and releasing them at a very fast pace to the market. Software testing is key to the success of such product releases. The quality of the product and the speed at which software development happens are two key focus areas for PubMatic. The QA director will be responsible for a team that develops, applies and maintains quality standards for company products with adherence to both internal and external standards. This person builds the strategy and the direction for software quality testing at PubMatic. Analyzes and deploys the best in class testing tools and processes at PubMatic. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions. Is very metrics oriented, is constantly striving for improving the quality of testing at PubMatic.

Key duties/responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting the testing strategy and plan for the company
  • Responsible for choosing the best in class tools for testing, documentation and releasing high quality software
  • Work closely with product managers on the implementation of new products and infrastructures including operational readiness, change preparation, change execution, and post-change QA validation.
  • Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day tasks of the QA function
  • Should use light-weight processes to drive quality and software stability
  • Coordinate with product management on roadmaps, automation, and operational improvement activities across the environment with accountability for continuously raising the bar on operating level agreement targets
  • Recruit and maintain a strong team capable of addressing test plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing medium to large sized QA teams
  • Deep working experience in Agile development process
  • Experienced in industry best practices of quality engineering and software development
  • Should be willing to roll up sleeves to provide hands-on test plan development, or coding
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
