Job Description

Senior Technical Writer

We seek a highly skilled and motivated Technical Writer to join our writing team. As a Technical Writer at PubMatic, you will create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation and content supporting our growth products and services. Your ability to grasp technical concepts and excellent writing skills will be crucial in delivering high-quality materials that effectively educate and empower our customers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Create and maintain a variety of documentation and content, including user manuals, guides, FAQs, tutorials, blog posts, and knowledge base articles related to growth products and services.
  • Product Documentation: Collaborate with product managers, developers, and subject matter experts to gather information and translate complex technical concepts into clear, accurate, and accessible documentation.
  • Audience Analysis: Understand the needs and preferences of our target audience, and tailor documentation and content accordingly to meet their requirements and expectations.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all documentation and content by conducting thorough reviews, edits, and updates as needed.
  • Style Guide Adherence: Follow established style guides and templates to maintain consistency in tone, language, and formatting across all documentation and content.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as product development, marketing, and customer support, to gather information and contribute to the overall success of our commerce media products and services.
  • Industry Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in commerce media, and incorporate relevant information into documentation and content as appropriate.
  • User Experience (UX): Apply user-centered design principles to enhance the usability and accessibility of documentation and content, ensuring a positive user experience.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, tools, and workflows, and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to internal stakeholders and customers to ensure they can effectively utilize and troubleshoot our commerce media products and services.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably with specialization in advertising tech, commerce media, e-commerce, or retail media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and clarity.
  • An understanding of HTML, JavaDoc/AppleDoc, JSON, Markdow and OpenAPI (Swagger) is considered very useful.
  • We use a lot of tools and software, such as Confluence, Jira, ReadMe, SwaggerHub, SnagIt, Figma, Lucidchart and GitHub. Any exposure to these or similar platforms is useful but not essential.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into user-friendly content.

 

Compensation and Benefits
Base Compensation Range: $110,000 - $145,000
In accordance with applicable law, the above salary range provided is PubMatic’s reasonable estimate of the base salary for this role. The actual amount may vary, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. In addition to salary PubMatic also offers a bonus, restricted stock units and a competitive benefits package.

Additional Information

Return to Office: PubMatic employees throughout the globe have returned to our offices via a hybrid work schedule (3 days “in office” and 2 days “working remotely”) that is intended to maximize collaboration, innovation, and productivity among teams and across functions.  All PubMatic employees in the US and India are required to be fully vaccinated to return to our offices.  Covid-19 boosters are not required at this point in time.
