Description/Job Summary:

Lead and perform maintenance service or repairs. Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, and air conditioners. Repair and maintain gas, electric, and steam appliances, including kitchen equipment (e.g., dishwasher, oven). Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work. Ensure that all flammable materials are stored in OSHA and EPA-approved containment devices. Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment. Test and replace batteries in fire alarms, smoke detectors, generators, fire pump, emergency lighting, and carbon monoxide detectors as scheduled. Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards to manager/supervisor. Assist skilled trade workers in one or more areas performing specific or standard duties. Coordinate and schedule with other departments in the event of major system shut down or major repair or improvement. Assemble, install, and inspect electrical or electronic systems, circuits, wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager/supervisor; complete safety training and certifications. Follow all company policies and procedures (e.g., safety and security); ensure uniform/dress code and personal appearance are clean and professional; support workplace diversity initiatives. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.

Required Skills

  • Safety - Follow company and department safety, security, and loss prevention policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Handle or store hazardous materials or waste according to federal, state, and local regulations as well as Sodexo standards.
  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
  • Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.
  • Follow all compliance programs (e.g., safety and fire, hazardous materials and waste program, emergency management program, utility management program, medical equipment management program, infection and control).
  • Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
  • Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.

  • Disassemble machines and repair or replace broken parts. Maintain Building and Unit
  • Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards to manager/supervisor.
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment. Coordinate with Others
  • Report gas leaks immediately to supervisor and proper authorities. HVAC

  • Report electrical or equipment system hazards to supervisor or manager. Painting
  • Report hazardous spills for appropriate cleanup.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
  • Related Work Experience: 4-5 years related work experience
  • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory/managerial experience
