Job Description

The Senior System Software Engineer is a key member of the System Software group, reporting to the Director of Embedded Software.  Senior System Software Engineer is an Individual Contributor position with primary responsibility of developing system software for QuickLogic’s CSSP solutions on industry leading mobile platforms (Android, Windows phone/tablet platforms or others) as well as enabling/supporting customers.  Strong technical experience and problem solving ability, with can-do altitude and the ability to collaborate with customers and FAEs, is required for success in this position.


Key result areas for this position are: 


  • Scope, design, develop, and maintain the system software (drivers, services and applications) for QuickLogic CSSP products on Android, Linux, and Windows Phone/Tablet platforms and other industry mobile platforms.
  • Support customers using the CSSP solutions: ensure that the solution pass customer’s integration and qualification; quick resolution of customers’ integration issues and field issues.
  • Contribute and support open source community for QuickLogic CSSP products
  • Continuous Improvements of software best practices: tools and processes for all key areas of software development
  • Successful engagement with partners and vendors


Key Activities/Tasks for these positions are:


  • Responsible for system software development of QuickLogic’s CSSP solutions for mobile platforms.
  • Key player in all phases of development: requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing and releasing, customer deployment and support
  • Work closely with system hardware engineers, FAEs in supporting of customers’ integration, qualifications and deployment of CSSP solutions.
  • Work with project managers and technical teams in a cross-functional environment, to implement quality products that meet the business goals
  • Work with open-source communities for integrations of QuickLogic’s CSSP system software, participate and support open source upstream projects.
  • Evaluate , select, and manage outside vendors and partners
  • Adhere to the companies stated environmental improvement goals and standards


  • BS /MS in Electronics Engineering with more than 5 years of relevant experience
  • Working experience for developing drivers for at least one of the following mobile platforms: Android, Windows, Linux.
  • Expert level of software development using C, C++ and some assembly and solid background in operating system internals, algorithms and data structures.
  • Good understanding of software-hardware interfaces like i2c, GPMC, memory management, DMA.
  • Experience with power management for embedded systems
  • Good understanding of software best practices, related tools and processes
  • Good communication skills and must be able to work in team environment
  • Willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally (10-15% travel)


The following experience is highly desired:


  • Experience in software-hardware co-design and silicon bring-up
  • Experience in working with customers and FAEs
  • Experience with collaborations and contributions to open-source communities
  • Working experience in display, USB or other connectivity devices for mobile platforms
