Quietly is on a mission to change the way content is shared on the web and we’re on the lookout for a Lead Designer to join our team in building this one-of-a-kind platform.
Think of this less as a job description and more as a challenge. You will own the design of all things Quietly and speak into the grand vision of the product. You’ll evolve the brand as we market and communicate our promise to the world. And you’ll be expected to represent us at industry-related conferences.
Quietly is looking for a design leader, a thought leader, and someone who has experience crafting highly functional, intuitive and social applications.
We are the creators of Invoke and HootSuite and excellence is at the center of everything we do. Building a rocket ship like this is serious business, but we’re going to have a hell of a lot of fun along the way too. That’s the point really: you need to be passionate about design and enjoy what you do.
Create first class user experience and user interface designs for all aspects of the Quietly product
Drive the brand vision of Quietly for all marketing materials (including print & collateral)
Engage in concept ideation and roadmapping with product team
Translate the creative brief, user goals and product goals into executable plans
Propose, present and defend design solutions to the team
Articulate and collaborate on design execution with development team
Maintain documentation for design and feature specifications
Establish and ensure consistent design quality of the product
Manage multiple & shifting priorities, ensuring deliverables are met on a consistent basis
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
5+ years experience designing small and large-scale digital projects on web, with a focus on mobile (iOS and Android) and social environments
An excellent portfolio showcasing your experience designing for a variety of styles and mediums
Self-motivated, independent and flexible team player
Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments
Ability to switch seamlessly between different types of work (mobile, web, and print)
A love of travel, exploring the world and sharing the best of those experiences
Experience creating detailed digital user flows and wireframes (e.g. Balsamiq, Omnigraffle)
Experience creating detailed user interface mock-ups (e.g. Adobe CS)
Knowledge of design methodologies and best practices for web, mobile and social
Knowledge of responsive web design techniques
Solid grasp of the product development process and experience working in an Agile environment
Articulate in presenting work to non-design people
- Experience using prototyping tools
NICE TO HAVE ATTRIBUTES
Masters degree in human-computer interaction or design-related field
Working knowledge of front-end development and implementing final designs
Experience preparing and conducting usability tests
Experience working in a start-up environment
Active in a design-related community
3D visualization skills
Motion design skills
- Comfortable with copy writing
