We work for a local technology solution provider and IT outsourcing company. The Company places IT professionals with medium and large companies in the Boston and New England area. They are currently seeking a Senior Data Analyst (Data Modeling) for a full time multi-year contract opportunity located in the Metro Boston area.

The qualifying candidate will have strong data analysis, profiling and requirements experience and a strong knowledge in data modeling as a ‘must have’ with conceptual and logical model experience from an analysis perspective (this individual will NOT be building the physical model).  This is an analysis/data modeling role.  Custody or Prime Brokerage (or similar) experience is a huge benefit. Applicants must have multiple years of working with an IT group. 

• Define business user requirements and use these to create technical; functional specifications
• Data Mapping, Functional Specs, and BSD
• In depth onboarding and analysis of clients and users
• Liaise with technical counterparts to ensure correct technical and functional flow/design
• Create test cases to ensure the system processes according to functional specifications and execute tests to ensure functional requirements are met
• Provide functional guidance to developers to resolve issues
  

• Strong analytical mindset with an ability to do in depth analysis and prior experience working with an IT team at least 5 years…business side only will not work for this role.
  
• Bachelor’s degree; major in Accounting, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Economics or related degree along with 10+ years of data modeling as an analyst, preferably at a custodial banking institution or at least in the financial services industry
• Strong background as an Analyst in: OTC Derivatives accounting, Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending, Capital Markets, Equity Derivatives and Asset Servicing
• Strong Trade Accounting and Settlement and/or regulatory reporting  knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge of software development cycle and ability to work alone or with the team
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.'
• Strong Communication skills, verbal and written, applied across various levels of the organization
• Candidate must demonstrate adaptability to strategic changes and demonstrate strong initiative and motivation skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment, while maintaining the value proposition
• Vendor and Custom built management and application deployment
• Major Focus on any of the following applications:   Misys Summit, EagleSTAR, Misys Sophis Risqué, Calypso, PrimeOne, MarkitSERV MarkitWire, Univista; strongly preferred
