Linux System Admin 

We have 2 different Projects for Linux System Admins with different clients in places near to Redwood city, CA. (Foster City and Palo Alto)

  1. Senior Linux System Admin (Foster City,CA)

       Weightage on Skills: LDAP(Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) and scripting.

       Duration: 12-18 Months

       Client: World leader in online financial transactions.

       Contract Type: W2-1099 (Preferred), C2C If employer is negotiable.

 2.   Linux VMware System Admin (Palo Alto, CA)

       Weightage on Skills: VMWare ESX, clustering technologies.

       Duration: 6+ Months

       Client: Software company that provides cloud and virtualization software and services.

       Contract Type: W2-1099 (Preferred), C2C If employer is negotiable.



Project 1: 

Linux System Admin 

Local candidates from CA

Must have strong Scripting experience along with LDAP.

Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience(preferred

Project 2:

Linux VM Ware - System Administrator



 The System Administrator’s role is to monitor, manage and tune in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also ensures that system provisioning and maintenance is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.



• Technical knowledge of other Unix flavors (e.g. Solaris, HPUX, Linux)

• Technical knowledge of Windows

Knowledge of other clustering technologies (e.g. Veritas, MC Service Guard etc) a plus

Experience with VMWare ESX highly desirable

• Technical Knowledge of SAN

Monitoring of servers, addressing any issues raised and ensuring that SLAs are met

Pro-active maintenance of servers and supporting infrastructure

• Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance

• Participate in and support capacity planning for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.

Coordinate with end-users and other IT infrastructure groups to implement server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives

Deploy servers and other related devices in datacenters

• Perform and test routine system backups and restores

Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers. Escalate incidents as necessary

• Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.

Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance

• Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases

• Create required reports in response to business user needs

Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use

Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
