Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Member Services the Security staff member is responsible for safety and security of the facility. Consistently strives to maintain a safe, clean and attractive facility. Performs any and all security duties requested by the Director of Member Services, Coordinator, Supervisors, or upper management throughout the facility. One must demonstrate the qualities of a positive role model in working with the members and community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with opening and/or closing the facility
  • Make sure secured areas are locked for staff/members safety (esp. supply closets, mechanical rooms and electrical closets).
  • Monitor locker rooms for safety including steam room and sauna.
  • Assist Welcome Center Specialists and/or Custodial Staff in cleaning of locker rooms.
  • Assist in the set up/clean up for special events within the facility.
  • Reports any deficiencies and suggest specific corrective action to management.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures.
  • Warmly and enthusiastically greets members.
  • Complete all the duties listed on the Security Opening/Closing “To Do List”


Qualifications

Position requires high school diploma or equivalent and three+  years of relevant experience. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from members and the general public.

Fluency in English and Spanish is a plus but not required.

Security Staff member must be flexible, and work harmoniously with members and staff, the ability to relate and work with a diverse population of people. The individual must be willing to work a flexible work schedule including weekdays/weeknights and weekends. On several occasions be able to respond to an on-call emergency situation that may occur within the facility. One must be capable of responding to supervision requests in a prompt and efficient manner.

Additional Information

This is a Part Time position; up to 20 hours per week.

Salary range is up to $13 per hour (based on experience).
