Job Description
R29 is looking for editorial interns to join us onsite in Washington D.C. starting June 17th through August 30th, 2013. If you have a healthy obsession with style, pop culture, and all things D.C., along with exceptional writing skills, we want to hear from you!
Some things you'll be doing:
- Researching news, events, and lifestyle topics specifically related to Washington D.C.
- Pitching ideas for daily posts and features
- Writing (yes, writing!) daily content as assigned
- Administrative work related to content production
Qualifications
Please read carefully — interns MUST:
- Be pursuing or have recently obtained a degree in English, Journalism, Communication or related
- Be exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Have a keen eye for news and content that is suitable for D.C. readers, specifically
- Possess excellent communication skills (we will ask you to complete a writing test)
- Be able to work two to three days for up to three months
- Be OK with working remotely while staying connected with the D.C. editor
- Must be available to work a minimum number of 2 days per week
- Must be located in D.C. or immediate surrounds
- Must be available to meet with the editor in D.C. once a week
